The OnePlus Nord 2T Has Been Leaked Through Renders: Specs, Price

The OnePlus Nord 2T Has Been Leaked Through Renders: Specs, Price

OnePlus has been quite active as of late. Their phones were formerly dubbed the “affordable flagship killers” but eventually became considerably more expensive to compete with the latest and greatest in the market. In order to retain their core value-centric market, they introduced the Nord lineup and even the CE devices, which are easier on the pockets. The newest addition labelled the OnePlus Nord 2T could be another banger. Currently veiled in mystery, here’s a summary of the information available regarding this smartphone.

A report by 91Mobiles states that the OnePlus Nord 2T will likely sport a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Rumors speculate that the all-new Dimensity 1300 should find its way into the device. This will be the most powerful processor MediaTek has ever produced, a worthy successor to the previous 1200. Since the 1200 was on par with the Snapdragon 870, the power of this chipset should be equal to or greater than the Snapdragon 888 at the very least. This will assure users of a buttery-smooth experience considered flagship levels to this day.

Multitasking was also factored into the equation since this device has 12GB of RAM, while saving files is fine and dandy due to 256GB of internal storage. Photos taken with the alleged 50-megapixel triple-camera setup with OIS should find shelter within the smartphone rather easily. If you need to take some selfies, there are 32 of those megapixels to highlight every detail on your face. Whether that’s flattering or a nightmare is entirely up to you. Keeping the lights on is a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 80W SuperVOOC charging.

The device will come with OxygenOS 12 out of the box, but upgrades to Android 13 and 14 should be within the pipeline. The original OnePlus Nord released in August of 2020 is receiving its probable final Android update this year, so we have an idea of how long these devices will be supported unless they have a change of heart like Samsung recently did.

How does this place within the OnePlus hierarchy? Well, a tiny indicator of how this mobile phone fares is the refresh rate. While 90Hz is still smoother than 60, we’d expect at least 120Hz from a flagship-level smartphone in 2022. The processor onboard is extremely capable, but it’s likely that it won’t be a good matchup with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200. The estimated price is around PHP 25,000 or whereabouts which sounds about right for an upper-midrange or lower-flagship device.

It seems that they’re holding a bit back. This is a wise decision since the OnePlus 10 Pro is on the horizon. Another interesting fact is historically speaking, OnePlus T devices have been half-life refreshes. The logical conclusion here is that the 2T is a supercharged Nord 2. With this in mind, it’s hard not to think about whether or not the OnePlus Nord 3 could be anywhere near. We’ll leave that to your imagination.
