As an all-rounder budget mid-range phone, the vivo Y36 does deliver the goods especially when it comes to content creation. We praised the Y36 for its optimized camera performance in our review, and we revisit the different ways this budget mid-range phone shines in the camera department:

A versatile rear camera and optimized software. As a budget mid-range phone geared towards content creation, the Y36 is armed with a 50-megapixel main camera that vivo has carefully optimized its software to maximize its performance for both photo and video.

We took the Y36 around Bagac, Bataan, and we’re impressed at its overall performance, especially in low-light situations. Considering that the Y36 is a budget mid-range device, it performed better than the competition with its 50-megapixel main camera. While most of the talk when it comes to camera performance is the hardware, the software also plays an important role as well. An optimized post-processing algorithm can go a long way in bringing out the best in any smartphone camera.

 

Excellent low-light performance. While a 50-megapixel is becoming a common feature among budget mid-range phones these days, the Y36 shines because of all the software tweaks vivo did to optimize it in low-light shooting. Despite being a budget mid-range phone, the Y36 does a decent job in making the most out of the available light in these low-light situations–you get a decent amount of detail in these photos, along with minimal noise, making them good enough for social media posting.

Stable videos with built-in EIS. Being geared towards content creators, the Y36 is also capable of videos, especially with its built-in EIS feature. Even if the Y36 is limited to Full HD video recording, vivo’s optimized algorithm helps it deliver quality footage that is worthy and usable for any aspiring content creator.

BONUS: Stylish looks. Being geared towards millennials and Gen Zers, the Y36 is also stylish with its glass back that makes use of fluorite anti-glare glass that gives it a more premium look than its predecessor. You can choose between Meteor Black or Glitter Aqua, though we highly recommend the latter with its crystallized finish that shines under the sun–all while having a glossy finish that is smudge-resistant.
