The ASUS ROG Ally will have a Global Release

After making its unveiling on April 1 (and no, it’s not an April Fool’s joke), ASUS further confirms that the ROG Ally will have a global release–and that it will arrive sooner than you expect.

Aside from the global announcement, little is known yet about the ROG Ally. According to rumors, the ROG Ally has a 7-inch 120hz Full HD display, while its processor is a custom AMD Zen4 chip with an RDNA3 GPU–which is speculated to be the Ryzen 7040U. That being said, the ROG Ally might pack an 8-core, 16-thread CPU inside.

According to Linus Tech Tips, the custom AMD CPU inside the ROG Ally can deliver up to twice the performance of the Steam Deck at the same 35w envelope–and should be able to produce 50% better FPS performance at 15w power.

It is said to be lighter and more compact than the Steam Deck–with dimensions of 28x 11.3×3.9mm and a weight of 608 grams–on top of running Windows 11 out of the box and having support for ASUS’ ROG XG eGPU.

The global availability confirmation is one of the advantages of the ROG Ally, though it remains to be seen how much will ASUS price the portable gaming handheld. For context, the Steam Deck in the Philippines starts at Php 26,950 for the 64GB eMMC version.
