Triple camera setups have been the norm with phones for the past few years, and it got us thinking: what if other products do have a triple camera setup? DJI has explored drones with 2 cameras through its Mavic 3 series, and it takes things up a notch with the Mavic 3 Pro as the first drone to have three cameras.
The main camera is a 20-megapixel one with a Four Thirds sensor and a f/2.8-11 variable aperture. It has a 24mm focal length equivalent and can shoot ProRes 5.1k video at up to 50FPS, along with DCI and regular 4K at up to 120FPS in 10-bit D-Log. The main camera claims to have 12.8 stops of dynamic range, along with Hasselblad’s Natural Color Solution (HNCS) color science.
The new camera here is a 48-megapixel medium telephoto camera that has a 70mm focal length equivalent and a f/2.8 aperture. This one uses a 1/1.3-inch sensor and can shoot 4K60 video in 10-bit D-Log, along with taking 12-megapixel photos.
The third camera is a 12-megapixel long telephoto camera with an f/3.4 aperture and a 166mm focal length. This one uses a 1/2-inch sensor and also supports up to 4K60 video in 10-bit ProRes. Compared to the long telephoto camera used on the regular Mavic 3, the one used in the Pro model has a brighter aperture and a slightly longer focal length.
All three cameras are placed on a 3-axis gimbal system that can tilt, roll, and pan. Like the regular Mavic 3, you still get a 43-minute flight time, along with omnidirectional sensors for avoidance detection and all of DJI’s smart features.
The Mavic 3 Pro starts at Php 114,800Â for the standard package that comes with a regular DJI RC controller.
