Upcoming Exynos 2400 Might Be STRONGEST Gaming Chip Yet

Some people, including the Samsung faithful, are simply allergic to the Exynos-equipped devices. We don’t blame them since these chips have been known to be less competent compared to their Snapdragon rivals over the past years – whether that’s in peak performance or consistency. Now we’ve received news that the brand’s gone back to the drawing board in an attempt to revitalize the name and gain back consumer trust. But is there truth behind the claims of the Exynos 2400 and its incredible gaming capabilities?

For a while it seemed that Samsung was killing off its Exynos line for the foreseeable future. After all, everyone was saying that the upcoming flagship Galaxy S24 series was going to be equipped exclusively with Snapdragon chipsets like the current S23 line. However, out of the rubble came tidbits of news that the latest Exynos 2400 was coming back with a vengeance.

Rumors swirling a few months ago mentioned that the all-new chipset will reportedly use a Cortex-X4 prime core, two higher-clocked Cortex-A720 cores, three lower-clocked Cortex-A720 cores, and four Cortex-A520 cores. That gives it ten instead of the usual eight-core layout.

Now, to bolster the Exynos 2400 and its gaming mettle, it’s rumored to also include a new RDNA2-based graphics unit with 6WGP. That comes with four times the compute units of the Exynos 2200 last seen in the Galaxy S22 lineup. The hardware is getting a massive upgrade which should also translate to real-world performance.

The Korean tech giant is also partnering with AMD and game devs to implement ray tracing tech in its gaming experience. We’re simply waiting for the Exynos 2400 to be the gaming chipset of choice, stomping everything from its direct rivals Qualcomm and Google to an extent, all the way to the Apple Bionic series.
