Zeiss Cameras and an IP68 Rating Should make the vivo V40 Interesting

vivo is making big changes for the upcoming V40 series, as even the standard model now comes with Zeiss-branded cameras. Just like with previous trends, the V40 does look similar to the S19 that was announced in China last May 31, with the main difference being the Zeiss tuning on the cameras.

Just like the S19, the V40 is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor that’s paired with 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 internal storage. As for the cameras, you are getting three 50-megapixel shooters: one for the selfie camera (with AF), one for the main camera (with OIS), and one for the ultra-wide camera.

On paper, it’s similar to what we experienced on the V30, though we expect software improvements thanks to Zeiss tuning. The Aura Light is still there, but it’s less pronounced compared to previous V series phones.

The display is the same 6.78-inch 120hz curved AMOLED used on the V30, but the V40 adds an IP68 rating–making it the first V series phone to receive it. While it is slim at under 7.6mm, vivo still managed to pack a bigger 5500mAh battery inside the V30. This is made possible with vivo’s Blue Volt tech, which increased battery density while keeping the same size. Charging speeds remain the same at 80w. You also get Android 14-based FunTouchOS 14 out of the box.

The vivo V40 is priced at 599 Euros(~Php 38k) in Europe, but expect pricing to be lower when it arrives in Asia.
