Since it has inked a partnership with Leica, Xiaomi has been improving the camera performance of its high-end phones. The Xiaomi 14 is the brand’s top dog this 2024, and people are wondering: How good are the cameras of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra?
With a score of 149, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra places 13th in DxOMark’s rankings and is indeed the brand’s best camera phone to date. This places the Xiaomi 14 Ultra at par with the vivo X100 Pro and Huawei Mate 50 Pro.

While the Xiaomi 14 Ultra technically has the same hardware found on its predecessor—four 50-megapixel cameras, variable aperture on the main camera, and HDR for both photo and video—DxOMark notes that Xiaomi made refinements with the software.
When it comes to photos, the 14 Ultra does have a wide dynamic range, low noise levels, and accurate colors, though it trails behind when it comes to capturing details compared to premium flagship offerings from Apple, OPPO, HONOR, and Huawei. The 14 Ultra’s main strength lies with its zoom performance, where if offers excellent performance in the medium and long zoom range thanks to its two dedicated telephoto cameras.
As for videos, the 14 Ultra delivered excellent performance with exposure, stabilization, and low noise levels. However, DxOMark noted that the 14 Ultra trails behind its rivals when it comes to focus transitions and sharpness difference between video frames.
