Canalys: realme Keeps Top 1 Spot in the Philippines for Q3 2021

Despite a negative annual growth, realme is still the top smartphone vendor in the Philippines for Q3 2021 according to a report by Canalys.

In Canalys’ report, realme’s unit share is at 26%, making it maintain its number 1 sport since the first quarter of 2021. Coming in second is OPPO, which garnered 19% of the market in the Philippines. Unlike other brands in the top 5, only OPPO experienced a positive annual growth of 11%

Rounding up the top 5 smartphone vendors in the Philippines are Samsung at 16%, Xiaomi at 10%, and vivo at 9%.

The third quarter of 2021 proved to be a good one for realme as it released two 5G-ready phones: the entry-level 8 5G and the mid-range, photography-focused GT Master Edition. The latter is arguably one of the best phones realme announced in the Philippines this year thanks to a unique, luggage-inspired vegan leather back panel and its suite of camera features.

Aside from smartphones, realme also expanded its ecosystem offerings in the Philippines by bringing over the Book and Pad. The realme Book is the brand’s first laptop, while the Pad is their first tablet. Both products came with competitive prices–especially with the pre-order promos–that helped realme maintain its top spot here in the Philippines.
